Dimple Shah / India
Granted from October until November 2017
This multidisciplinary artist studied in Bangalore at the university there and worked in painting, printing techniques, performances, and installations. Over the course of the years her work has evolved with the goal of developing a mutual, interdisciplinary "language" out of all of these different genres.
Dimple Shah's works have received national and international awards and have been collected by Indian as well as international art connoisseurs. She is currently focusing on performances and community art happenings, in order to reach a larger audience.
Dimple Shah, Marta Bosowska, Akuzuru Tala are part of a large performance project by the Munich artist Dorothea Seror; the project deals with old and new rituals of women. For three months, "Beyond Ritual – Body of Power" will feature workshops at different locations as well as religious, therapeutic, and shamanic ritual performances. During the night from October 31 to November 1, 2017, the Villa Waldberta will also be the location of a ceremonial art happening.
