Kordula Lobeck de Fabris / Germany
Granted from January until April 2018
This freelance director, theater educator, and art mediator is, among other things, the co-founder and artistic director of "Unter Wasser fliegen" ("Flying Under Water"), an association with headquarters in Wuppertal, Germany; the association focuses on international cultural exchange. Her work concentrates on the "new theater" of theater groups in Europe as well as in North and South America; she also lived in Latin America for many years, where she worked as a director of a theater, producer, and researcher. In addition, as a pronounced expert and networker she is frequently a guest at international "new theater" conferences and congresses. An essential focus in Kordula Lobeck de Fabris' work is on professional theater work in a socio-cultural environment. The model projects she has developed in this field received support from, among others, the European Union and the German Federal Foreign Office. Her biggest concern is to create, in collaboration with professional artists, an international exchange within this socio-cultural area.
All of the guests in March and April are participants in Magdalena München, the Magdalena Project in Munich; workshops can be booked with most of these high caliber theater and performance women during their stay.
